Organic flaxseed grown in our farm.
Linum Usitatissimum is a plant with beautiful indigo flowers, known to absorb massive amounts of CO2 during its life cycle.
The plant has seeds that are a real superfood, rich in healthy components, like Omega 3, or its precursor alpha linoleic acid. The seeds are used in baked goods, or they can be used for their healthy gel. To extract the gel, put the seeds in cold water overnight, in the fridge; in the morning the water will have extracted all the gelly substances. If drunk it is very healthy for the GI tract, or perfect if used as a hair leave-in gel as it is not oily.
We also use the seeds to press flaxseed oil, a nutritious food that can be added to our daily diet to improve our overall health.
Store in a cool, dry place, away from sunlight. After opening, store in the fridge.
